Rallycross in the United States has been given another reprieve with the announcement of the new RallyX Americas series, which will debut next year with three doubleheader events at established venues across the U.S. and Canada.
The series – an expansion of the successful Nordic-based RallyX series which currently holds competitions in North and South Europe – comes after the demise of Global Rallycross, Americas Rallycross, and Nitrocross in the last eight years, and is the brainchild of Andreas Eriksson, RallyX founder and boss of the Olsbergs MSE team which competed in the aforementioned series and has developed the Super Car Lites, RX1e, FC1 and FC2 rallycross cars, the latter two through his First Corner business.
“We’re thrilled to return the sport of rallycross to a high level in America with the creation of RallyX Americas,” he said. “We couldn’t be more excited to work with three of the best racetracks and promoters in America to create a stable set of events that will help us grow the sport.
“We look forward to welcoming a broad slate of professional and grassroots race teams alike to our events, and we can’t wait to throw the first green flag at Crandon in June.”
RallyX Americas will kick-off at Crandon International Raceway on June 20-21 before heading to Eldora Raceway for two more rounds a week later.
“Since 1970, Crandon International Raceway has been the unwavering home to off-road racing in the United States,” said Crandon promoter Marty Fiolka. “Being part of the expanded worldwide 2026 RallyX series not only provides rally motorsports a stable home in America, but also adds an international flair to Crandon ‘International’ Raceway.”
Levi Jones, general manager of Eldora Speedway, added, “Bringing a RallyX event – one of the fastest-growing motorsports on the planet – to the world’s greatest dirt track is something we’re truly excited about.
“Showcasing a different style of racing beyond our traditional Sprint Car and Late Model programs lets us share the Eldora experience with fans who may be seeing this place for the first time. We can’t wait to welcome the fast cars and standout drivers of RallyX to Eldora.”
The series then heads north of the border to former World Rallycross and ARX venue Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières on Aug. 22-23, marking the first time rallycross has been held at the circuit since 2019 when it hosted World RX and ARX.
“As one of North America’s premier legacy rallycross organizers, it is an honor and a privilege to be considered to join such an exciting and competitive championship as RallyX Americas,” said Dominic Fugère, general manager, Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières. “Also, being right in the heart of Canada’s Energy Transition Valley industrial zone, we feel that it can benefit all parties in showcasing how breathtaking and innovating electric motorsports can be.”
In addition to the main slate of six rounds, tea ms and drivers will be invited to a pair of invitational events: the Crandon World Cup on Sept.5-6, and the RallyX Global event at Montalegre in Portugal on Oct. 24-25, which will bring drivers together from RallyX’s North and South Europe series, as well as the Americas series. All races will be livestreamed, the details of which will be announced at a later date.
RallyX Americas will feature five classes in its first season. The premier class will be for the 1,088 hp, all-electric FC1 which was previously used in Nitrocross’ Group E class.
Under it will be the FC2 class, featuring the purpose-built 550 horsepower, combustion-powered FC2 which debuted in 2024 in Nitrocross’ Nitrocross Next category. The third division will be Open 2WD, a class with relatively free regulations that can accommodate rally, road racing, and drift cars (with adaptations for rallycross).
The final two classes will be a first for rallycross in the U.S.: Cross Car and Cross Car Junior. First Corner has developed the 150 hp FC5 for the category, but it will be open to all existing Cross Car options on the market. The low-cost, entry-level classes will be open to drivers as young as 12, giving drivers an ideal first step on the rallycross ladder.
Drivers interested in the new series will be able to participate in an open test in February 2026. The test, which will take place at an as-yet-unnamed location in the southeastern United States, will include FC1, FC2, and Cross Car machines.
