The Oklahoma City Thunder have been utterly dominant to begin the 2025-26 season.
The Oklahoma City Thunder destroyed the Phoenix Suns by 49 points as they tied the Golden State Warriors for the best start through 25 games with a 24-1 record.
The Thunder have not only been shattering records, but they are blowing out their opponents in the process.
With the way the Thunder are operating, they look poised to surpass the 73-9 Warriors’ record.
Zach Lowe comments on the two texts he received after the Oklahoma City Thunder game
The Thunder made light work of the Suns.
The way they were able to just easily dispatch a Suns team that had been very competitive this season was impressive.
Are the OKC Thunder favorites to win the NBA Cup?
The OKC Thunder just beat the Phoenix Suns by 49 POINTS!
The Thunder handed the Suns their worst loss in franchise history, while setting their own franchise record with 16 consecutive wins.
Zach Lowe talked about the texts he received after the Thunder’s win.
The first text was about the Thunder and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander not being as fun to watch. The second text was about how there might not be anything that can close the Thunder’s championship window.
“I’m going to read you a couple of texts I received last night.
“This one is from an NBA coach: ‘You have probably addressed this before, but it’s just an observation: OKC is a super-efficient, robotic team—factory-like efficiency, not much flair or fun.
“This includes even Shai [Gilgeous-Alexander], their best player by far. But there are a lot of other guys in the league I would rather watch from a fun point of view. This is so unfair to say, because they are a great team.’
“Then I had another front office person text me: ‘I know I’ve consistently said to you that championship windows are never as long as you think, but I’m honestly not sure what could close the Thunder’s window aside from a catastrophic injury. This is unbelievable.’”

Can anyone stop the Oklahoma City Thunder this season?
It might not matter what happens with Giannis Antetokounmpo because the Thunder seem invincible right now.
Their lone loss was in a game against the Portland Trail Blazers where they took their foot off the gas.
OKC could go 74 wins or better!

Other than that, they have been flawless and don’t seem beatable.
A healthy San Antonio Spurs team could challenge the Thunder. Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets who brought the Thunder to 7 games in the playoffs last season is another team to watch.
In the East, the New York Knicks could perhaps make things interesting against OKC.
There are not many teams that have what it takes to beat the Thunder this season and it wouldn’t be surprising if OKC continues to cakewalk through their schedule.
