Honma have launched the latest generation of their T/World irons with the TW777 PCB Max arriving as the replacement for the TW767 series.
The new PCB Max irons are part of the complete series featuring TW777 drivers, fairway woods and utility clubs and will be a major new addition to the market for 2026.
The TW767 range featured Tour V, Vx, Px and Hx but there is only one confirmed in the TW777 series with the launch of the PCB Max.
The Honma TW777 irons series includes the players’ cavity back with the PCB Max offering shot shaping, distance but with the added element of additional forgiveness.
Pros & Cons
✅ Exceptional forgiveness from the large head and composite structure, ideal for off-center hits
✅ Soft, solid impact feel thanks to forged construction and damping tech
✅ High launch and straight ball flight, suiting mid-to-high handicappers
❌ Larger footprint may feel less workable for low-handicap players preferring compact blades
❌ Potential for higher spin could limit distance for faster swing speeds
❌ Premium pricing compared to some rival brands
Honma TW777 PCB Max Irons Specs & Design
The PCB Max is the only model confirmed as part of the TW777 series launch and it is a new addition from the TW767 range.
The PCB Max has a larger head profile than others in the range and is a players’ cavity back that offers easy hitting and maximum forgiveness.
The PCB Max is a compact players’ iron forged from a soft forged S25C steel body with a one-piece construction for a classic blade look.
It features a high-strength full cup face to expand the high ball speed area and produce straighter shots with Honma increasing the face thickness behind the sweet spot to create a premium feel at impact.
The PCB Max features a built-in vibration-absorbing emblem for a solid feel and a precision “HONMA Cut” slope polishing on the upper face for a visually softer look at address.
The PCB Max model is available in 5-iron (22 degrees) to Sand Wedge (56 degrees).
Stock shafts include lightweight N.S. PRO 950GH Neo steel or VIZARD graphite, which is designed to aid high launch and spin control.
Honma TW777 Irons Review: Are they any good?
The TW777 series is set to feature a number of new models as the successor to the TW767 irons, but the only officially confirmed option is the PCB Max.
The players’ cavity back iron is aimed at forgiveness and feel with workability and suits a range of golfers from low to mid-high handicappers.
The high launch and spin levels are ideally suited to faster swing speeds and the PCB Max is probably better suited as a mid-handicapper tool.
Additional models are expected to be part of the series but remain undisclosed in detail as of now.
