Dave Ward leads the Mob out as Head Coach for the first time at home in The Champ tomorrow afternoon and makes one change to the XV that recorded an opening day win at Cambridge.
Harrison Courtney and Callum Norrie scrum down either side of try-scorer Seb Smith in the front row. Samoan Lock Totoa Auvaa got his name on the scoresheet on his competitive debut and he partners big Aussie Aidan King again in the engine room. Wards names an unchanged back row with Barney Merrett on the blindside, man of the match Charles Rylands on the open side and Tongan powerhouse Tino Mapapalangi at eight.
Efan Jones grabbed another individual try at Cambridge and the scrum half partners Louis Grimoldby in the halfbacks. Captain Fraser Strachan has the impressive Oscar Wilson alongside him in midfield.
Wards only change comes in the back three where Noah Caluori makes his debut in place of Sam Kildunne with Seva Kava on the opposite wing and Josh Barton at full back.
Three changes to the bench as Ward rotates his squad with Harrison Dakin, James Johnston and Rory Morgan coming into the match day twenty-three.
Ahead of the game, Dave said “it’s a team we know well, we’re expecting a very physical game, it’ll be a set piece game. We’ve improved steadily through pre-season and hopefully the supporters get to see the best of Ampthill on Saturday”
