No, there’s not a new one, but all four sim racing legends will be relisted for sale in 2026.
For many – those who are perhaps reaching middle age, ahem – Geoff Crammond’s Grand Prix games were the quintessential sim racing games.
They, over four released, pushed the genre forward, thanks to an exacting attention to detail and, for the time, out-and-out simulation driving dynamics. In fact, you could claimmere sub-genre of ‘sim racing’ exists thanks to these titles.
Publisher MicroProse will be re-releasing the quartet of titles for Steam in 2026.
At the time, Grand Prix 2, 3 and 4 were officially licenced Formula 1 platforms, replete with correct driver names, teams and liveries.
However, a quick look at the store pages for the upcoming relaunches reveals car liveries that have been stripped of real-world sponsors.
And haphazardly too, as this image of a red car (presumed Ferrari) has the fake sponsor ‘Orache’, but then mistakenly, elsewhere, the actual ‘Oracle’ company name. Ooops.
Trackside banners haven’t altered to match the now anonymous paint schemes, with Vodafone, Cardio and BMW clearly visible.

MicroProse was purchased by its current CEO, David Lagettie, in 2018, who has also been purchasing its prior intellectual property.
It promises the games will be “enhanced” in a social media post, but to what extent is not clear.
Certainly, the modding community has made these titles look better over the intervening years, and judging by the static images, that doesn’t appear to be the case with these re-releases, remaining non-widescreen, for example.

Steam Workshop a possible reprieve
However, adding them to Steam could see a whole new generation of sim racers experience these preeminent F1 driving experiences with relative ease.

There will also be Steam Workshop support, so if they are released as we suspect, without accurate names, sponsors and designs, the community should be able to re-create them and add them via this modding system.
This certainly wasn’t on our bingo cards for 2026, and we hope to know pricing and release dates soon.
