EIHL Challenge Cup: What happens next?

EIHL Challenge Cup: What happens next?

After tonight’s Elimination Game, we’ll know the four teams taking part in the Challenge Cup Semi-Finals.

As detailed in the format change, the Semi-Finals are seeded based on teams’ win percentages. As group winners, Sheffield and Belfast are #1 and #2. The seeding for places #3 and #4 will only be known after the Elimination Game. Coventry Blaze ended the Group Stage with 60%, Glasgow Clan 67% and Nottingham Panthers 60%.

Therefore, if the Clan win, they will be ranked #3 and Coventry #4. If Nottingham come through that game, they’ll be ranked #4 and Coventry #3.

  • If Glasgow win the Elimination Game, the Semi-Finals will be:
    • Sheffield Steelers vs. Coventry Blaze
    • Belfast Giants vs. Glasgow Clan
  • If Nottingham win the Elimination Game, the Semi-Finals will be:
    • Sheffield Steelers vs. Nottingham Panthers
    • Belfast Giants vs. Coventry Blaze

The dates allocated for the Semi-Finals are 11, 18 and 26 February 2026 as necessary for a home and away, two-legged series. The dates used by teams are subject to their own arena availability. We already have ice availability from all teams and would like to be able to confirm the Semi-Finals on Thursday, pending confirmation that teams’ travel plans have been booked. No public announcement can be made until travel, which is likely to include flights, have been confirmed.
