WMass Girls Basketball Roundup: Lee comes back to beat Mount Greylock

A six-point deficit at the end of the first quarter Wednesday night was no problem for the Lee girls basketball team, as the Wildcats came back to take down the visiting Mt. Greylock Mounties 59-49.

Three players reached double digits in the scoring department for Lee. Gianna Calino led all players with 17 points, while Mika Diller and Ari Noyes contributed 15 and 10, respectively. Madison Powell had 15 points for Mt. Greylock.

After trailing 21-15 to start the second quarter, the Wildcats walked into halftime carrying a slim 31-30 advantage. In the third, they began to run away with the game, outscoring the Mounties 17-5 in the frame, and held on in the fourth to close out the come from behind victory.

Lee improved its record to 2-1 with the victory and awaits Easthampton in its next matchup Friday night at 7 p.m.

Mt. Greylock’s record falls to 2-1 with the loss. The Mounties will host Pioneer Valley Christian Academy Friday at 7 p.m.
