Earlier this month, ZyroFisher announced a new distribution partnership with Skarper, the British company behind the world’s first click-on, click-off high-performance e-drive system.
Now, ZyroFisher says its retailers can electrify both customers’ existing bikes and their in-store stock, with next-day delivery to stores and nationwide demo availability.
Partnering with ZyroFisher allows us to make Skarper available where riders already trust and shop. It’s a vote of confidence in a new category we’ve created – the click-on e-drive – and a step toward making e-bike freedom available to anyone who loves their current bike – Ean Brown, CEO of Skarper
The partnership marks a major milestone in making electric freedom accessible without compromise.
Until now, riders had to choose between buying a second e-bike or settling for bulky conversion kits. Skarper’s patented DiskDrive® system changes that, delivering lightweight electric power that clicks on for the commute and off for the weekend ride – all without altering the bike’s frame.
Developed in collaboration with Red Bull Advanced Technologies, Skarper’s award-winning design has earned top honours at Eurobike, Red Dot, and iF Gold. The 4.5 kg drive unit connects via the DiskDrive® rotor interface, replacing the standard rear brake disc. Once attached, it delivers up to 76 Nm of torque assist power across Eco, Cruise, and Turbo modes – all controlled through the companion app. Detach it in seconds for a pure, unassisted ride.
We are proud to partner with Skarper to drive a genuinely exciting breakthrough in e-mobility through a truly innovative product that expands, rather than replaces the cycling market. The new ground-breaking technology will be available to our 3000 plus retailers across the UK and Ireland, which will provide a super simple and accessible way for more people to experience the sustainability, freedom and joy of electric power, without changing their bike or the way they ride – Tom Ainscough, CEO of ZyroFisher
Skarper is also eligible for Cycle to Work schemes, allowing riders to save up to 47% where applicable.
For retailers, the partnership introduces a new category – the click-on e-drive – that bridges the gap between traditional and electric cycling. It enables shops to serve riders who want electric assistance without replacing their existing bikes, while reinforcing the value of in-store expertise. With minimal installation and a clear demonstration moment (“the click”), retailers can now convert curious riders into confident high-performance e-bike owners in a single visit.
Skarper’s partnership with ZyroFisher will bring this exciting technology to customers nationwide, making electric performance accessible to even more riders. Skarper is the next evolution in cycling innovation, transforming the bike you already love. I am so excited to see this important development for the business – Sir Chris Hoy, Founding Investor in Skarper

Following the news, we reached out to Skarper to ask them a few questions about the system.
Does Skarper provide guidance to shops for conversions fitting and installations?
Yes. All partner shops receive clear compatibility guidance and installation instructions so they can support customers confidently.
Do Shops Become Manufacturers by Fitting Skarper?
Skarper was developed and tested over five years to meet the highest safety and regulatory standards in the industry.
From day one, our aim has been simple: to give riders a premium electric experience they can trust, and to give retailers a product that is easy, safe, and compliant to support.
The Skarper system has been independently tested to EN 15194 and certified to all applicable safety and regulatory requirements.
It does not alter the bicycle’s frame, geometry, structure, or wiring. The bicycle retains its full mechanical function independently, and the Skarper unit can be attached or removed in seconds without tools.
Skarper is a self-contained accessory. Retailers apply the same duty of care to its fitting as they do with any other high-spec component or upgrade.
Retailers remain responsible for safe installation and customer service. Skarper remains fully responsible for the safety, conformity, and certification of the drive unit itself. Skarper holds full product liability insurance to give retailers and bike manufacturers additional confidence.
What education will ZyroFisher be providing to retailers to ensure conversions are safe and guidance is being adhered to?
Skarper has produced a full suite of retailer support materials, installation guides and troubleshooting resources to assist with installation and education. ZyroFisher’s regional managers have also been trained directly, and any shop onboarded through ZyroFisher can access support from the Skarper team whenever needed.
If a shop decides to just sell it and doesn’t install, is this allowed?
Yes – the option lies with the customer, with retailers provided with guidance on compatibility and installation. Installation is designed to be as simple as possible, comparable to replacing a rear disk brake; however, we do offer free professional installation through partner stores for customers who prefer it.
Once installation has been completed, are customers provided with any safety/care guidelines?
Yes. Every Skarper unit includes a full user manual, care guidance and set-up information. We always encourage shops to try the product themselves so they can speak from first-hand experience.
What’s the general advice around servicing?
Skarper comes with a two-year warranty. If servicing is required, customers can return to their retailer or contact us directly.
For retailers interested in Skarper, please contact your ZyroFisher account manager or email salesteam@zyrofisher.co.uk to find out more.
