NFL Draft Prospects in the 2025 Birmingham Bowl

The bowl season gives fans and scouts alike a chance to analyze NFL Draft prospects against solid competition. Bowl scheduling allows all eyes to be on each game. Here are the NFL Draft prospects in the 2025 Birmingham Bowl.

Georgia Southern Eagles Draft Prospects

Pichon Wimbley, IOL

Wimbley joined Georgia Southern in 2022. He started all games at left guard for the Eagles in 2022. Wimbley retained his spot at left guard in 2024, getting great experience. In 2024, he was named All-Sun Belt Third Team, and then improved to All-Sun Belt Second Team for the 2025 season.

At 6-foot-2 and 305 pounds, Wimbley is a little undersized for an NFL interior offensive lineman. He has plenty of experience during his college career, which should work in his favor as he tries to make an NFL roster.

Projected Draft Range: Undrafted Free Agent

MJ Stroud, EDGE

Stroud redshirted in his first year at Georgia Southern. He then played a bit more in 2023, registering 15 total tackles. In 2024, he tallied 24 total tackles an one tackle for loss. The 2025 season has been Stroud’s best yet, as he has racked up 31 total tackles, 14.5 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks.

He stands 6-foot-2 and 235 pounds, which is a little undersized for an NFL edge rusher. His good production this season is encouraging, but a return to college to continue filling out his frame and bossting his stock is likely.

Projected Draft Range: Undrafted Free Agent

Appalachian State Mountaineers Draft Prospects

Rashod Dubinion, RB

Dubinion spent three seasons at Arkansas, where he was able to see the field a decent amount. He totaled 888 rushing yards, 315 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns during his time with the Razorbacks. This year for Appalachian State, he has 868 rushing yards, 170 receiving yards and four touchdowns.

At 5-foot-10 and 210 pounds, Dubinion has solid size for an NFL running back. His increased production this season should boost his stock a bit, but he’ll likely have to prove himself on special teams to make an NFL roster.

Projected Draft Range: Undrafted Free Agent

Izayah Cummings, TE

The first four seasons of Cummings’s career was at Kentucky. He had 18 catches for 293 yards and three touchdowns for the Wildcats. Cummings transferred to Louisville for 2024, where he caught three passes for 33 yards in four games played. He has suited up for Appalachian State this season, registering 37 catches for 374 yards and one touchdown.

He stands at 6-foot-4 and 240 pounds, which is a little small for an in-line tight end, but he can fill out his frame a bit better. Cummings had his best season in 2025, which could help him. Excelling at special teams is his path to making an NFL roster.

Projected Draft Range: Undrafted Free Agent
