Manchester United will hope to stay in the race for a Champions League qualification spot when they visit Aston Villa on Sunday.

Ruben Amorim’s side currently sit sixth in the Premier League table after a run of four draws and five wins from their last ten matches in the competition, and the Portuguese will want to see his side continue their impressive form against the Villans.

Villa will undoubtedly provide a stern test for United, though, with Unai Emery’s side having won nine of their last ten Premier League matches, a run which includes victories against Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City and Arsenal.

Ahead of the game, it has emerged that a Man United star who is currently on loan elsewhere is highly likely to depart the club permanently next year.

According to Mundo Deportivo, via CaughtOffside, Barcelona are increasingly likely to trigger their option-to-buy clause for forward Marcus Rashford.

The England international is currently on loan in Catalonia, having joined Barcelona over the summer on a deal until the end of the current campaign.

The 28-year-old has scored 138 goals and provided 78 assists in 426 games for his boyhood club, but the Englishman fell out of favour following the arrival of Amorim late last year.

Since making the move to Spain, Rashford has scored six goals and provided eight assists for Hansi Flick’s side, and the report suggests that Barcelona are therefore increasingly likely to activate the option-to-buy clause to sign the forward next summer.

It is claimed that Barcelona will be able to sign the forward for a fee in the region of £26 million, and it appears almost certain that his time at Old Trafford has already come to an end.
