Managerless Chelsea make the trip north to face Manchester City on Sunday afternoon.
The Blues parted ways with head coach Enzo Maresca on Tuesday, and the West London side’s hierarchy have not yet appointed a successor to the Italian.
At present the Blues sit fifth in the Premier League table, having won just one of their last seven games in the competition.
Now, with those in charge of the club on the hunt for a new manager, it has emerged that Chelsea are one of two Premier League sides chasing a France international.
According to Calciomercato, via CaughtOffside, both Chelsea and Manchester United are monitoring AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan, who is in the final year of his current contract.
The report claims that the two English sides have both been keeping tabs on the Frenchman, who has established himself as one of the best ‘keepers in Europe over the past few years.

Maignan, 30, joined Milan from French side Lille in 2021 and has since made more than 180 appearances for his current club across all competitions, keeping 67 clean sheets and conceding 186 goals.
The report also claims that Serie A giants Milan are reluctant to lose Maignan as a free agent at the end of the current campaign, and are therefore preparing a new contract proposal worth around £4.8 million annually.
Fellow Serie A side Juventus are also said to be interested in the former Lille man.
It is not yet clear, however, if the France international is happy to stay put at Milan, or will instead opt to depart in search of a new challenge.
The goalkeeping department has become something of a problem area for both Chelsea and Man United in recent seasons, with both sides having had a string of unconvincing ‘keepers between the posts.
