Shubman Gill to replace Jasprit Bumrah as India’s vice-captain in Test format: Report

Shubman Gill is set to replace Jasprit Bumrah as the Indian cricket team vice-captain in the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh, according to a report by Revsportz. The batter has already been handed with the vice-captaincy in both the T20I and ODI formats for the upcoming white-ball series against Sri Lanka.

Gill is also being considered as a big contender to take over the captaincy in all formats and this move can be a huge step in that direction.

The Test series against Bangladesh will begin in September with the opening match to be played on September 19 in Chennai, while the second encounter will be played on September 27 at Green Park in Nagpur.
