The Indian cricket team is now in Sri Lanka for India’s tour of Sri Lanka series. The series has 3 T20I matches and 3 ODI matches. These that will be played between the two teams. Why Shivam Dube is not playing in today’s match

As the match started, Sri Lanka won the toss and opted to bowl first. During the toss Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav mentioned the playing XI for today. However, all rounder Shivam Dube was not included in the team.

Dube was also a constant player throughout the T20 World Cup 2024 season, with no notable scores. He was also a part of the Zimbabwe tour, and performed well in the matches.

Dube’s exclusion from the team is more of a strategic move from captain Suryakumar Yadav and coach Gautam Gambhir. Earlier, Gambhir was speaking to Shivam during the net practice sessions, advising him on the game.

Riyan Parag replaces Shivam Dube

Shivam Dube is being replaced by the debutante Riyan Parag. Parag started his International career in the Zimbabwe tour, and looks promising. Seniors from the team and BCCI have also admitted his seriousness towards the game has increased. This makes him a player to look forward to.
