Key Insights on Quickest Hundreds in Vijay Hazare Trophy

Fastest Centuries and Individual Batting Milestones

Bihar’s Sakibul Gani holds the record for the fastest century in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, reaching the mark in just 32 deliveries against Arunachal Pradesh in the 2025/26 season.

Sakibul Gani’s 32-ball ton is the fastest by an Indian in men’s List A cricket and the third-fastest globally, trailing only Jake Fraser-McGurk (29 balls) and AB de Villiers (31 balls).

Ishan Kishan smashed a 33-ball century for Jharkhand against Karnataka in 2025, the quickest ever by a wicketkeeper in the tournament.

Kishan finished with 125 runs off 39 balls, maintaining a strike rate of 320.51, the highest for any 100-plus score in VHT history.

Anmolpreet Singh previously held the record with a 35-ball century for Punjab against Arunachal Pradesh in 2024, which remains the fastest ton recorded in a run chase.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi brought up his maiden List A century off 36 balls, setting the record for the fastest hundred by an opener in the competition.

Age-Group Records and Youth Achievements

Vaibhav Suryavanshi became the youngest batter to score a century in the Vijay Hazare Trophy and men’s List A cricket at the age of 14 years and 272 days.

Suryavanshi also holds the record for the fastest 150-run knock in the tournament, reaching the milestone in 59 balls against Arunachal Pradesh in 2025.

In reaching 150, Suryavanshi surpassed the previous world record for the fastest 150 in men’s List A cricket, held by AB de Villiers (64 balls).

Sakibul Gani (32 balls) and Vaibhav Suryavanshi (36 balls) are the first pair in the tournament’s history to record centuries in fewer than 50 balls during the same innings.

Elite Double Centuries and Historical Scoring Feats

Narayan Jagadeesan holds the record for the fastest double century in Vijay Hazare Trophy history, taking 114 balls to reach 200 against Arunachal Pradesh in 2022.

Jagadeesan’s final score of 277 remains the highest individual score in the history of the Vijay Hazare Trophy and overall men’s List A cricket.

During his 277-run knock, Jagadeesan scored 190 runs through boundaries (25 fours and 15 sixes), the most by any batter in a single VHT innings.

Narayan Jagadeesan is the first player to score five consecutive centuries in a single season of the 50-over competition.

Prithvi Shaw previously held the record for the highest individual score in the tournament with an unbeaten 227 off 152 balls against Puducherry in 2021.

Team Performance and Collective Scoring Records

Arunachal Pradesh holds the unwanted record of being the only team to concede five or more centuries of 50 or fewer balls in tournament history.

Bihar set the record for the highest team total in List A history, amassing 574/6 against Arunachal Pradesh in the 2025/26 season.

Tamil Nadu was the first team to cross the 500-run mark in the competition, scoring 506/2 in 2022.

Bihar, Mumbai, and Punjab are the only teams to have two different batters score centuries in 50 or fewer balls.
