The Test match between Pakistan and England in Multan witnessed a rare occurrence, which is not frequently seen on the field. This was seen as Abdullah Shafique and Shan Masood showed excellent display of running between the wickets and made a hattrick of scoring three runs.
This happened during the bowling of Chris Woakes in 7th over of the innings. The fourth delivery was to Shafique, who sent the ball through covers and ran three runs. The next ball was cut by Shan Masood and as the fielder had a long chase, it resulted in another three runs. On the last ball, Shafique sent one through mid-wicket and ran another three, even though here was a factor of risk.

This hattrick showed the ability of the duo to judge the field and initiate synchronized running between the wickets. This also shows the fitness of these players- something which the Pakistan team was lacking, especially after the fact that Pakistan’s red-ball head coach Jason Gillespie raised concerns over the fitness level of players.
