The wrestling world continues to rally around Konnan as new support was shown during AAA’s Rey de Reyes broadcast.
Before the action began at Rey de Reyes on March 14, the commentary team took a moment to acknowledge Konnan and send their well wishes during the live broadcast. The panel for the show included Corey Graves, Rey Mysterio, and John Bradshaw Layfield.
During the broadcast, the commentators addressed Konnan’s health situation and shared messages of support for the longtime wrestling figure. JBL added that he hopes to see Konnan return to AAA in the future.
The on-air comments came shortly after reports surfaced earlier in March about Konnan dealing with a serious medical issue. Mexican sports outlet RÉCORD previously reported that he had been hospitalized in San Diego, California following complications that led to the amputation of one of his legs.
As of now, Konnan has not publicly addressed the situation. Konnan has faced numerous health challenges over the years, including kidney failure that required a transplant. He has also undergone dialysis treatments related to kidney complications that developed after contracting COVID.
Despite those struggles, Konnan has remained a key figure in the wrestling industry for decades, both as an in-ring performer and as a major creative influence behind the scenes, particularly with AAA. For now, many within the wrestling community continue to send their support while waiting for Konnan to provide an update on his condition when he feels ready.
