The fallout from escalating violence in Mexico could now impact the upcoming AAA on FOX show.
Following reports of widespread unrest after the killing of cartel leader Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, also known as “El Mencho,” concerns are mounting about the safety of upcoming events in the region — including AAA’s scheduled February 28 television taping.
During a Q&A session on February 23, 2026, WrestleVotes addressed the situation and revealed that the AAA on FOX show, set to take place in Monterrey, Mexico, could be in jeopardy. When asked whether Saturday’s AAA taping might be canceled due to the cartel attacks, WrestleVotes responded:
“Saturday, AAA from, I believe, Monterrey, Mexico — Triple A live and tapings that they’ve been doing — yeah, there’s a big shot. It doesn’t seem safe right now, so there’s a shot.”
The comments come as violence has reportedly spread across multiple Mexican states, with flights canceled and travel disruptions affecting the region. Safety concerns appear to be at the forefront of decision-making. WrestleVotes continued:
“I know there have been dozens of people that have been killed, flights being canceled to Mexico. WWE and AAA will do all the things they think are best for everybody in terms of safety and security.”
At this point, no official cancellation has been announced. However, given the severity of the situation and ongoing security concerns, the February 28 AAA taping remains uncertain.
