Key Storylines
Dominik Mysterio vs. El Hijo del Vikingo is the main event and the match with the highest stakes. Mysterio won the AAA Mega Championship from Vikingo at Worlds Collide: Las Vegas in September 2025. Vikingo has been chasing a rematch since, earning his shot on the January 31 episode of Lucha Libre AAA. The stipulations were set during a contract signing on the February 21 episode: no disqualification, with career-altering consequences for both men. Mysterio recently lost the WWE Intercontinental Championship to Penta on the March 2 Raw, meaning he is no longer a double champion heading into tonight. Earlier this week, Mysterio told interviewer Brad Gilmore he wants the IC title back and is willing to put his hair on the line for a match with Penta at WrestleMania 42.
El Grande Americano vs. “The Original” El Grande Americano is one of AAA’s hottest feuds. Ludwig Kaiser adopted the El Grande Americano character and became a fan favorite in Mexico. Chad Gable returned from injury claiming to be the original and has been accused of faking his ability to speak Spanish, including using AI-generated promos. Their feud has played out across multiple weeks of AAA television and comes to a head tonight in the Rey de Reyes final, where they will be in the ring together alongside La Parka and Santos Escobar.
The War Raiders earned their tag title shot by winning a three-way match on the February 14 episode. Pagano and Psycho Clown have held the AAA World Tag Team Championships and are defending against a team with WWE experience as Erik and Ivar continue to appear across both brands.
Flammer’s open challenge adds a wildcard element. The AAA Reina de Reinas Champion has specified that her challenger must come from either Raw or SmackDown. The opponent has not been announced.
