Aakash clarifies India not partaking in the Champions Trophy as BCCI denied PCB’s invite

India’s position in the ICC Champions Trophy has been revealed as BCCI communicated to ICC that they are not going to travel to Pakistan in order to partake in the event next year. Pakistan is now going to host an ICC event for the first time since 1996.

Chances have been shaking over Champions Trophy as India has not travelled to Pakistan since 2008 Asia Cup. BCCI raised the decision by the Indian government since they refused to travel to the neighbouring country. The PCB has already rejected the proposal of the hybrid model as multiple reports and now the latest move by the Indian government has raised the question about the future of Champions Trophy.

Former Indian cricketer-turned-commentator Aakash Chopra feels Pakistan are only to blame themselves for this scenario. He has stated on his YouTube channel about how it is not the decision of the BCCI or the Indian cricket team on where they want to go or not.

It has been decided that India won’t go to Pakistan, and this is not the BCCI’s decision. Let’s make it very, very clear. India’s cricket team doesn’t decide where and when they will go when we talk about Pakistan. For the other places. it’s fine. However, if you are going to Pakistan, it’s not the BCCI’s but the Indian government’s decision,” Aakash said.
