Harare: After getting dismissed on a duck in his debut match for India, many fans took to social media to criticize Abhishek Sharma. However, in the very next match, he silenced all the doubters with his incredible performance against Zimbabwe in the second T20I of the series. India won the toss and decided to bat first at the Harare Sports Complex.
After losing skipper Shubman Gill in the second over, Abhishek decided to take matters into his own hands. The left-handed batsman smashed the Zimbabwean bowlers around the park. His amazing partnership with Ruturaj Gaikwad was really impressive and it took India over the 100-run mark in no time.
Abhishek completed his half-century in 33 balls. He was already going at a decent pace, however he changed gears just after he reached the 50-run mark. He only took 13 more balls to score another 50 runs and completed his century in just 46 balls. In this brilliant knock, he hit 7 boundaries and 8 sixes. Also, with this ton, he became the fastest Indian batsman to score a century in T20Is doing so only in his second match.
He was dismissed by Wellington Masakadza on the very next ball. This magnificent knock helped India finish at a mammoth total of 234/2 after 20 overs.
