Abhishek Sharma hits Dion Myers in 2nd T20I

The Indian cricket team has just won the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 naming the players as ICC World champions. While the team enjoys this victory, another squad is busy preparing for another T20I series. Shubman Gill is the captain for a fairly young India squad for the tour. In the 2nd T20I between India and Zimbabwe, Abhishek Sharma hits Dion Myers in 2nd T20I scoring 28 runs in 6 balls.

The India tour of Zimbabwe started on 6 July with a T20 match between the two teams at Harare sports club. In the first match, India won the toss, yet lost the match by 13 runs.

In the second match, India has won the toss and opted to bat first. As the team’s batting innings continues, Abhishek Sharma has made a name for himself, scoring his first century for India.

The young batsman has been lauded in theIPL 2024 season, being a run making machine along side Travis Head for their team Sun Risers Hyderabad as openers. While Sharma’s performance yesterday was underwhelming, he has made up for it today.

In the 10th over, Abhishek Sharma was batting while Zimbabwe’s Dion Myers was on the bowling side. The young batter made Muers sweat out as he scored 5 boundaries in a single over. Sharma scored 2,4,6,4,6,4 in the over, getting a score of 28 in 6 balls.

This is an impressive feat by Abhishek, who has turned heads towards him early on in his career. Abhishek Sharma’s knock also brought in India’s combined 100 runs in style, as the team score read 102/1 as the 11th over started.

Abhishek Sharma scores his first century

Abhishek Sharma is undoubtedly a force to reckon. The young batter debuted for team India yesterday and scored his first century for the team today. Abhishek achieved this feat in a mere 47 balls, taking his strike rate to a whopping 212.77. These numbers are daunting for the bowlers, to say the least as they face Sharma later on in the series.

Abhishek Sharma lost his wicket after his impressive century on Wellington Massakadza’s bowl. Dion Myers took his revenge by taking the catch that sent Sharma back to the pavillion.
