Sharma’s innings included eight sixes and seven boundaries, marking the third-fastest hundred by an Indian in men’s T20 international cricket.
At the end of the eighth over, Sharma was batting on 28 off 24 balls, helping to stabilize the innings with Ruturaj Gaikwad after the early loss of captain Shubman Gill. However, Sharma then shifted gears dramatically, scoring 72 runs in the next 22 balls with a flurry of sixes.
