Las Vegas Aces star A’ja Wilson witnessed NBA history on Tuesday, courtesy of her boyfriend, Bam Adebayo. The Miami Heat star cemented his name at the No. 2 spot in most points scored in a single game. Adebayo scored 83 points against the Washington Wizards and joined Wilt Chamberlain and Kobe Bryant as the only players to score at least 80 points.
Wilson watched Adebayo dominate offensively from courtside and was full of joy for what the NBA star achieved. The WNBA star also joined the Heat big man in his postgame interview. She had a hilarious post on Threads about her partner having the higher point-record in a single game between the two of them.
A’ja Wilson’s Hilarious Reaction to Bam Adebayo’s Career-High
“Welp won’t have the highest career high in the house anymore 😭 but at least it gives me something to go after 🤭,” Wilson posted.
Wilson is motivated to outdo Adebayo in the scoring department. Before the Heat star’s scoring outburst, his career high was 41 points against the Brooklyn Nets, which he had in January 2021. The Aces star had more points between them with 53 points against the Atlanta Dream in August 2023.
Wilson had nothing but praise for her partner’s best scoring night. During her time in front of the media, the four-time MVP said this:
“God is really just really special for him and God doesn’t play about Bam.”

Adebayo had a heartwarming message for his partner. The Heat star revealed that Wilson complained a lot when he reached the 10,000-point mark on Sunday against the Detroit Pistons. The former Kentucky star had 24 points that night and became the second Heat player to reach the scoring feat.
But he made sure that Wilson was present when he had another historic night. Adebayo spoke about how the WNBA star has helped him grow as a basketball player.
“The behind-the-scenes, the workouts, and the conversations, they’re very motivating. Obviously, you see what she does. You get inspired every day by that. Thankful to have her in my life,” the Heat star said.
Adebayo’s scoring night has encouraged Wilson to take on the challenge of setting a new career-high. In the past, the seven-time All-Star has shown that she is one of the best scorers in the WNBA. Last season, she averaged 23.4 points per game, which was No. 1 in the league.
The 2026 WNBA season could expect an offensively motivated Wilson to lead Las Vegas.
