Across The Pond profile: Shamar Perez

Every athlete that aspires to be a mixed martial artist brings their own brand of uniqueness to the table when preparing to put on a performance in a localized environment while remaining true to themselves by never straying too far from their homegrown roots. In today’s episode of Across The Pond, you will meet the newest Southern scorcher ready to bring big island fire and go volcanic at Flyweight for Legacy Fighting Alliance. A professional mixed martial artist since July 2024 and representing Wildside Combat Sports Center, Shamar Perez holds a 1-0 record with his only victory coming via submission. He has fought for Aries Fight Series and has spent his entire career in the United States in his home state of Tennessee. Perez has never gone to the scorecards over the course of his journey as a professional MMA fighter with a 100 percent finish rate alongside one first-round finish in his lone appearance inside the professional ranks with a time of 49 seconds. He also fought for various promotions as an Amateur before turning professional including Valor Fighting Challenge. The one and only finish during his professional career has been within the opening round inside of five minutes or fewer.

In his professional MMA debut at Aries Fight Series Nashville Underground, he faced a fellow debutant in Ben Rainwater and submitted him in round one. The victory earned Perez the first submission win of his professional career in addition to his first finish. He also scored his first win as a professional mixed martial artist in the process.

In his promotional debut under the Legacy Fighting Alliance banner on February 6 at LFA 226 from F&M Bank Arena Perez will face off against Trevor Grice in a flyweight tussle. Good luck Shamar!
