Adam Gilchrist picks his 3 all time favourite wicketkeepers , Dhoni’s name on this position

Australian cricket star Adam Gilchrist, known for his skills as both a wicket-keeper and a batsman, has listed Indian cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni as one of the top three wicket-keeper batsmen. Before mentioning Dhoni, Gilchrist also named another player. As one of the best wicket-keeper batsmen in cricket history, Gilchrist first mentioned Australian legend Rodney Marsh, whom he admired. Gilchrist, who won the World Cup in 2003 and 2007, praised Dhoni’s calm demeanor and included Sri Lankan player Kumar Sangakkara in his top three list.

“Rodney Marsh was my hero. I always looked up to him. MS Dhoni, I admire his cool attitude. He always stayed calm and played his game. And Kumar Sangakkara. He was very elegant in everything he did, both in batting and wicket-keeping,” Gilchrist shared with The Times of India.

Marsh participated in 96 Test matches for Australia from 1970 to 1984.

Gilchrist believes Australia can reclaim the Border-Gavaskar Trophy when India visits Australia later in 2024. India has won the past two Test series against Australia on Australian soil and is aiming for a third consecutive victory, which has never been done before. However, even though Gilchrist supports his own country, he acknowledged that the competition will be intense and could come down to the final moments. India has won the last four Border-Gavaskar Trophies, each with a score of 2-1.

“Australia needs to show that they are the strongest team in their own country. India has experience in winning matches outside their home,” Gilchrist told The Times of India.

India had never won against Australia in Australia before, but now they have won two series in a row there. This time, Gilchrist said it’s hard to predict the winner.

“Of course, I’ll support Australia and hope they win. But it’s really hard to say who will win. It will be a tough competition,” Gilchrist said.
