GOA (Bishop Kaun & Toa Liona) vs. Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson)

  • The Young Bucks walk away with the win here. The match came to an end after Liona picked up Matt Jackson, but Nick came in with the save by superkicking his knee. They dropped Liona, and then hit a DDT on him. After that, they grabbed Kaun and then hit the Meltzer Driver for the win.

Winner – The Young Bucks

Grade: B+

Great match to start off the show. With the win, The Young Bucks (obviously) advance to the big match on AEW Dynamite. That’ll be great, but GOA put on a great show tonight as well.

Following the match, FTR and Stokely Hathaway appeared on the screen backstage, and sent a message to the Bucks as they celebrated the win. Hathaway said there is simply no way that they will be tag team champions in 2026.

Brody King gets a brief vignette here, and talks about his win over MJF. King says it was only just the beginning, and he has to continue proving to fans just who he is at AEW Grand Slam Australia.

It’s time for Kris Statlander to come to the ring. Renee Paquette is here to talk to her. However, before they can get into the stipulations for her match with Thekla, Thekla showed up. She attacked Statlander from behind, leading to The Sisters of Sin coming down to get in on it. The trio held Statlander down while Thekla then strapped her with the belt.

After the moves, Statlander grabbed the mic and called Thekla a “stupid bitch,” and said she now gets to meet “Straplander.” She challenged Thekla to a Strap Match on Wedesday’s AEW Dynamite show for the AEW Women’s World title.

Backstage, Kyle Fletcher is talking about how he didn’t respond to any challenge from Ciampa for the TNT Championship. Kazuchika Okada then walked up and said he’s there to support him, and said Kyle should make his desire for the title more known.

Scorpio Sky vs. Kevin Knight

  • Kevin Knight is the winner, after hitting a massive hurricanrana and then a huge springboard clothesline on Sky late in the match. He then set up a big splash to completely end the match.

Winner – Kevin Knight

Grade: B-

This one was okay, not a whole lot to write home about but was still some awesome moves to close out the ring.

In a promo from Hook, he talks about how a few weeks ago, the Opps were on top of the world. Now, though, he’s been appointed as the leader following Samoa Joe’s injury, and he promises to lead the group well.

Mina Shirakawa vs. Viva Van

  • Mina Shirakawa wins this one in relatively easy fashion after some back-and-forth. In the end, she hit a big sling blade off the ropes, and then hit a few combo of moves on Viva before locking in a figure four leglock for the submission win.

Winner – Mina Shirakawa

Following the match, Shirakawa was leaving up the ramp when Marina Shafir made her entrance with the Death Riders. The two stared each other down for a moment.

Grade: C+

Probably one of the poorer showings of the night, as there were a few botched moves in this one. But still, it was fun to see Shirakawa come away with a big win.

Skyflight (Dante Martin & Zayda Steel) vs. Death Riders (Marina Shafir & Wheeler Yuta)

  • This is a back-and-forth match with some big spots, but in the end, The Death Riders come out on top. The ending of the match saw Steel hit a big crossbody on Shafir, which she turned into a massive slam before locking in the Mother’s Milk submission for the win.

Winner – The Death Riders

After the match, Yuta grabs a pair of hair clippers and goes to try and shave Zayda Steel. Orange Cassidy and Toni Storm run down to the ring and make the save, and Moxley looks a bit apprehensive about Storm, who is wielding a pair of scissors herself.

Grade: A-

This was an awesome match. Everything involving the Death Riders tends to be fun to watch, but this one featured some excellent moments, including the end, which was a big push for Marina Shafir.

Backstage, or at a bar somewhere, Jamie Hayter and Alex Windsor are sharing drinks. A man walks up and tries to hit on them, and when he’s ignored, he gets a bit more aggressive. The pair then beat him and smash a glass over his head, before running out of the bar and laughing it off. As they leave, Hayter says she knows the perfect name for pair’s team name. The name, The Brawling Birds, is then revealed.

In a pre-taped video, MJF is pacing around after losing his match to Brody King. He said he was hoping to see Hangman Page beat Andrade El Idolo, and then calls out Andrade, saying he would’ve beaten him down if he won. MJF then says King’s win was a fluke, and that he’ll show King that Brody is nothing but all bark.

Thekla vs. Brittnie Brooks

  • Thekla absolutely dominates this one, even though the crowd is excited to see Brooks in action. Thekla ends it quickly with a spear and a pin.

Winner – Thekla

After the match, Julia Hart and Skye Blue held Brooks down and then Thekla got in some whips with her hair, sending a message to Kris Statlander in the process.

Grade: C

This was just a squash, no other way around it.

In a pre-taped promo, Jon Moxley is talking about how Takeshita beat him in the C2, and that this time will be different. He says Takeshita is not the same young kid he was years ago, and now, he wants to find out who the best man is now that they’re both in their prime.

The Rascalz (Dezmond Xavier & Zachery Wentz), Eddie Kingston & Ortiz vs. The Grizzled Young Veterans (Zack Gibson & James Drake), Big Bill & Bryan Keith

  • This was an absolutely wild match. Out in the parking lot, all hell broke loose, and in the end it was Eddie Kingston, Ortiz, and The Rascalz picked up the win. The match ended with chaos breaking out. At the end of the match, Myron Reed came out of nowhere and hit a senton bomb on GYV, and then grabbed Isla Dawn (who had also appeared) and locked her in an SUV’s trunk. Ortiz then powerbombed Drake onto the hood of the car, and Kingston hit a DDT on Gibson for the win.

Winner – The Rascalz, Eddie Kingston & Ortiz

Grade: A

Just an absolutely unreal match. It may not be the most technical, but it is always fun watching wrestlers fight out in the parking lot and do crazy stuff.

Backstage, Roderick Strong is talking to Lexy Nair, and says he’s decided it’s time for a change, which is why he’s going after Tommaso Ciampa’s belt. Mark Briscoe walks up and says he believes in Strong, and thinks he could win. He then says if Strong does win, he’d like to have the first shot at the belt, as a favor to a fellow member of the Conglomeration. Strong says he isn’t in the Conglomeration and storms off.

TNT Championship: Tommaso Ciampa (c) vs. Roderick Strong vs. Claudio Castagnoli

  • This is an absolutely wild match, and in the end, Ciampa keeps his title in his hands. The match came to an end after Strong was hit with a pop-up uppercut by Castagnoli. Strong then returned the favor by hitting back-to-back flying knees, dropping Castagnoli. Strong went to pin Claudio, but then Ciampa shocked him with a running knee of his own, and pinned Strong for the win.

Winner – Tommaso Ciampa

As Ciampa is celebrating with his silvie, Kyle Fletcher comes out to the ring. He grabs Ciampa’s TNT Championship and slowly hands it back. He then says he wants a hero’s welcome when he goes home to Sydney, Australia, and challenges Ciampa to a match for the belt at Dynamite next week.

Grade: A-

Wow, what a match! Absolutely incredible stuff from all three stars, and even the end sets up an amazing match next week.

AEW Collision Review:

This was another strong showing for Collision. The final two matches of the night were absolutely awesome, and even though there were some duds sprinkled in, the show not only did well enough tonight, but set the stage for what promises to be a really big episode of AEW Dynamite and subsequent AEW Grand Slam Australia.

Grade: B+
