AEW Newcomer Poised for Big Push in 2026

Kevin Knight’s stock inside AEW is rising fast — and according to a new report, a serious push could be coming sooner rather than later.

While fans have seen Knight’s momentum grow on television — from capturing the AEW Trios Titles with Hangman Page and Speedball Mike Bailey to now challenging MJF for the AEW World Championship — there’s reportedly even more confidence in him behind the scenes.

Speaking during a Self Made Session, Self Made Pro revealed that AEW views Knight as a legitimate prospect and that a lot of main-event level talent within the company believe in his upside.

“I’ll tell you this, folks — AEW believes in him. They believe in him as a prospect. A lot of the main-event guys like him because the word about Kevin Knight from wrestlers — and I’ve heard this from numerous people — is that he has a great attitude.”

Self Made Pro went on to reveal why that reputation matters. In wrestling, especially for younger talent getting television opportunities, locker room perception can make or break momentum.

“And why does that matter? Because if you’re a young wrestler, there’s kind of an unspoken thing in wrestling — the locker room is always watching how you carry yourself. If you’re a young guy getting a big shine in a TV match, for example, they’re looking to see if you’re the guy shaking hands, thanking people, thanking the guys who were bumping for you and making you look good, thanking the people helping you in the back, and so on.”

He made it very clear that Knight has earned respect by doing exactly that — showing professionalism, gratitude, and discipline. There’s also a business side to this story. Knight reportedly signed what was described as a short-term “prove-it” deal when he first joined AEW — and he treated it as such.

“He’s said to have a great attitude when it comes to that type of thing, and that’s what got him over with the boys. I’d imagine that discipline came from working in New Japan and being in the dojo, because you have to be hyper-disciplined there. So he’s going to come correct and not act entitled in AEW. And speaking of that, when he signed with AEW, he signed a short deal — basically a prove-it deal. And he treated it like that. He didn’t just assume the next contract was automatically coming, even though it probably was. And now he finds himself in a position where I can straight up say he’s poised for a big push this year.”

With a World Title shot against MJF looming and strong internal support behind him, 2026 could be the year Kevin Knight officially breaks out as a major singles star.

Do you think AEW should strap the rocket to Kevin Knight now, or build him even more before the big leap? Let us know your thoughts.
