“We need to show the kids that cricket is in our DNA,” says former England pace bowler Devon Malcolm who spearheaded a celebration of the legacy and influence of Black communities in cricket at Northamptonshire’s County Ground last Sunday.
Steel drums rang out bringing the sounds of the Caribbean to Wantage Road creating a carnival atmosphere as more than a thousand people from all over the country enjoyed live cricket soundtracked by a live DJ, surrounded by authentic African Caribbean food and culture.
