The poor show by former Pakistan captain Babar Azam has continued yet again. On the second Day of 2nd Test against Bangladesh, Babar made a 31-run play before giving his wicket to Shakib Al Hasan.
Even though Babar has not been able to hit fifties in his last 15 innings of Test cricket, his teammate Agha Salma has came in favour and defended him.
In the post-match conference, Salman told a reporter to not focus on Babar and see other 10 players as well.
“Babar Azam is a world-class player. As a cricketer, you go through these phases. He has scored consistently throughout the last five years. Soon, we will see him scoring big runs for Pakistan again,” Salman said.
“As a cricketer, you have such phases in your life. There are 10 other players in the team, you should focus on them. It’s fine if he’s struggling. He will return to scoring big runs very soon.”
