Agit Kabayel vs Damian Knyba – Big Fight Preview & Predictions

Agit Kabayel puts his WBC interim title on the line in Germany on Saturday as he faces unbeaten Polish heavyweight Damian Knyba.

DAZN air Kabayel vs Knyba live from the Rudolf-Weber Arena in Oberhausen, Germany.

The German heavyweight comes into the contest on brilliant form with a record of (26-0) with 18 KOs.

Kabayel has impressed on the world stage in his last few fights on big Riyadh Season cards over in Saudi Arabia.

He featured on the undercard of Anthony Joshua vs Otto Wallin, outclassing one of the division’s hardest hitters, Arslanbek Makhmudov.

The German put on a boxing clinic putting ‘The Lion’ down three times before stopping him in the fifth.

The 33-year-old beat Cuban Frank Sanchez in his only fight of 2024 also stopping him this time in the seventh round.

In his last fight Kabayel picked up possibly the biggest win of his career so far halting Zhilei Zhang.

Despite going down in the fifth round, Kabayel’s attack on the body was too much for the 42-year-old.

The German picked up the WBC interim world title in his last fight and that is the prize Knyba looks to steal on Saturday.

Knyba (17-0, 11 KOs) fights in Germany for the first time in his professional career having only fought in Poland and the United States prior.

The Polish heavyweight has featured on some major bills, including a stoppage win over Emilio Salas on the undercard of Teofimo Lopez vs Sandor Martin back in 2022.

Knyba was last in action on the undercard of Danny Garcia’s final fight at the Barclays Center where he stopped Joey Dawejko in the seventh.

Prediction: Kabayel will prove too much for Knyba who hasn’t operated on that level yet. I expect a stoppage from the German in the mid rounds of the contest.

Unbeaten Herrara takes on Ricardo Nunez

In the co main event of the event on Saturday rising star Jadier Herrera (17-0, 15 KOs) challenges for the WBC interim lightweight world title.

The Cuban has been on a devastating run of inside the distance wins as he looks to make Nunez his 12th successive stoppage.

‘One Billion’ was last in action at the Echo Arena in Liverpool on the undercard of Nick Ball and TJ Doheny’s world title contest.

Herrara stopped a cut Jose Rodolfo Macias Enriquez in the seventh round of their bout.

He takes on the experienced Ricardo Nunez (26-7, 22 KOs)

Despite losing seven times, Nunez will be no push over boasting an 84% knockout ratio.

The 32-year-old was actually disqualified in his last fight where he took on Jon Fernandez for the vacant WBC silver super lightweight title.

He hit Fernandez after the referee called a pause in action causing a cut that meant the fight had to end instantly and Nunez was disqualified.

Prediction: I expect a one sided Herrara win but wouldn’t be surprised if the contest sees the final bell with Nunez dropping down to lightweight.

Granit Shala vs Petar Milas

Granit Shala and Petar Milas will contest the IBF international heavyweight title on the undercard.

Shala (18-1, 7 KOs) picked up the international heavyweight title against Daniel Dietz on a split decision in 2024.

He takes on the heavy-handed Milas (19-1, 15 KOs) on Saturday whose only loss came to Olympic medallist Tony Yoka.

Prediction: This is a well-matched heavyweight clash but I would lean to a stoppage win win for Milas who I feel will prove to be too much for Shala.

Remaining Undercard

Olympian bronze medalist, Gleb Bakshi (6-0, 4 KOs) takes on the biggest test of his professional career so far against the seasoned Juan Jose Rodriguez Duran (21-1, 19 KOs).

Duran is a massive underdog according to the bookies despite having far more experience in the professional game.

Prediction: Bakshi should prove to be too skilled.

Oranzo Birardi (9-1, 6 KOs) should cruise to a stoppage win over Milosav Savic (9-10-1 7 KOs).

At heavyweight, Kevin Saszik (9-0, 3 KOs) should beat Patrick Schaefer (11-1, 9 KOs) and Daniel Dietz (15-1, 14 KOs) will likely stop unbeaten Seun Salami (9-0, 7 KOs).

The other two fights on the Kabayel-Knyba undercard take place over six rounds as Roman Fury (5-0, 2 KOs) should secure a stoppage win over the experienced Toni Thes (29-18-1, 22 KOs) who comes off of back-to-back points losses.

Unbeaten former Olympian, Nelvie Tiafack (2-0, 2 KOs) will look to continue his flawless knockout ratio as he takes on Piotr Cwik (9-5, 2 KOs).
