The March 16 episode of WWE RAW went down at the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas. AJ Lee was in the house, and she did so as a fighting champion.
AJ Lee wants to defend the Women’s IC Title against anyone she can. This week on RAW, she put that belt on the line against Bayley.
Those two shoo-in WWE Hall of Famers threw down in a Women’s IC Title match this week on RAW. This match went down to close out the show’s first hour.
This was AJ Lee’s first match on RAW since 2015, so this was a historic encounter no matter how it turned out. Bayley was looking to dethrone the champion, whom she hadn’t had a chance to tangle with until now.
This match included a few near falls as both competitors kept trying hard to pull off the big win. They kept going and then AJ Lee nailed a Shining Wizard, but Bayley countered out of a Black Widow. Then Bayley went for an elbow drop off the top, but nobody was home. Then AJ Lee got the Black Widow on and Bayley finally had to tap out.
