AJ Styles Reveals He Received The Undertaker’s Gloves From His Final Match

AJ Styles just revealed a behind-the-scenes moment from WrestleMania 36 — and it involves a piece of history from The Undertaker’s final match.

Speaking on The Phenomenally Retro Podcast, Styles opened up about what happened after their Boneyard Match — a cinematic bout that ended up being The Undertaker’s last-ever match in WWE. According to Styles, he wanted to do something meaningful after the match and reached out to Michelle McCool for advice on what kind of gift would matter most.

“So, this one was a big deal to me. After my match with The Undertaker, I asked Michelle, I said, ‘What can I get him, you know, for having that match with me?’ She goes, ‘Just sign your gloves, because he would appreciate that more than anything.’”

Styles followed through on that suggestion, signing his gloves and personally giving them to The Undertaker as a thank-you for sharing that moment: “So I signed my gloves, and I said, ‘Man, thank you so much,’ and I gave him my gloves.”

But what happened next is what made the story stand out — because Styles didn’t expect anything in return. He revealed that about a month later, something showed up that caught him completely off guard: “So, like a month later—no—his gloves came in the mail.” That moment hit differently once Styles realized exactly what he had received — gloves from The Undertaker’s final match, a piece of wrestling history that very few people could ever own.

“So, I have The Undertaker’s gloves from his last match. It was pretty awesome that he did that. He definitely didn’t have to do that, but it’s one of my most prized possessions.”

It’s the kind of moment you don’t see on TV — a quiet exchange that turned into a piece of wrestling history changing hands. And for Styles, it’s not just memorabilia, it’s a reminder of being part of Undertaker’s final chapter.

Do you think moments like this matter more than what we see on screen, or is it all about the match itself? Drop your thoughts below and let us know.
