KKR Management to Take Time Before Deciding on Captaincy

When KKR CEO Venky Mysore was asked about the possibility of Ajinkya Rahane becoming the new captain following Shreyas Iyer’s departure, he mentioned that the management will take their time to evaluate all factors before making a final decision.

Mysore clarified that the team would reflect on the situation carefully and hold a thorough discussion, even though not all stakeholders may be present at once. The think tank will ensure a well-informed decision is made.

“Well, you know that. To be honest, we have to sit down and take stock. Sometimes what happens is, after you’ve done all of these things, you just have to sit down, reflect, look at the whole thing. There are stakeholders and parts of the think tank won’t be here. So we’ll all sit down and have a proper chat about that, and I’m sure a proper decision will be made,” Mysore was quoted as saying to the broadcasters.

KKR also have the option of making Venkatesh Iyer the captain, as he was bought for a significant INR 23.75 crore. Iyer expressed that he would be more than happy to take on the captaincy challenge.
