Former women’s flyweight champion Alexa Grasso and No. 5 ranked Maycee Barber met in a rematch in the UFC Seattle co-main event.
The two first fought at UFC 258 in February 2021 with Grasso defeating Barber via unanimous decision. Grasso entered the but coming off back-to-back losses while Barber make the walk to the octagon inside Climate Pledge Arena riding seven-fight winning streak.
Grasso connected first with an outside leg kick. Grasso landed a jab and stayed in boxing range. They exchanged gloves. Grasso pressed forward with a three-punch combination. Grasso connected with a clean left hand that crumbled Barber. Grasso immediately jumped on a rear-naked choke. Barber was out before the choke.
It was a straight left hand counter that put Barber down. The stoppage was ruled a knockout. The official time of the finish was 2:42 of the first round.
