According to PWInsider, there is backstage belief within Major League Wrestling that Hammerstone suffered a knee injury during his match against Matt Riddle on MLW Fusion.
The injury reportedly occurred following a spot that took place outside the ring. After the incident, officials within the promotion made the decision to bring the match to an early finish due to concerns about Hammerstone’s condition. Despite the situation, Hammerstone reportedly pushed to continue the match even after the injury occurred.
Backstage sources indicated that while Hammerstone was able to walk to the back under his own power after the match, he was clearly dealing with significant pain.
