West Indies cricketer and all around player Andre Russell will not feature in the remaining three T20I matches against England and has a left ankle sprain.
Russell sustained the injury during the first game of the five match series in Barbados and missed the second match as the West Indies suffered a seven wicket defeat to go down 0-2 in the series.
Due to Russell’s unavailability, West Indies included alll-rounder Shamar Springer, who recently played two T20Is against Sri Lanka, in the squad
Paceman Alzarri Joseph will return to the team in Saint Lucia for the important last series of the tour of the West Indies having finished his two match ban and replacing Shamar Joseph.
A two-match suspension was imposed on the player in question by Cricket West Indies after he left the field without permission during the 3rd ODI match played in England and the West Indies found themselves one player short in the field.
The rest of the T20I series will be played in Saint Lucia, with its third encounter being on a Thursday.
The West Indies are in a must win situation with the third T20I on Thursday if they are to keep the series going.
