Amanda Nunes Unveils Home, New Gym and Secret Weapon Against Kayla Harrison
Retired from the Octagon since June 2023, Amanda
Nunes returns to action on Jan. 24 to try and reclaim her belt
against her former training partner and current bantamweight
champion Kayla
Harrison in Las Vegas at UFC
324.

Considered by many to be the GOAT of women’s MMA, Amanda knows she
will face a very different Harrison from the times they trained at

American Top Team and therefore guarantees that she has been
dedicating herself diligently to training for the past four
months.

“It’s been two years since I retired and almost nothing has changed
in the division. Practically only the champion has changed,” Nunes
said in an interview with Evelyn Rodrigues.

Nunes’ training routine and personal life were the subject of the
thrid edition of “Acesso Exclusivo” (Exclusive Access), a mini
documentary posted last week on the UFC Brazil YouTube channel.

In the video, Amanda opened up about her personal life to her
Brazilian fans. She showed her house, displayed the wall where she
keeps her 11 championship belts and even revealed during a family
lunch — alongside her wife, Nina Nunes,
and daughters Reagan and Hazel — how she started dating her
training partner at ATT and how their first kiss happened.

Building a Game Plan

Amanda also opened the doors of her personal gym “Lioness Studio”
and allowed part of her session with training partners Priscila
Cachoeira and Larissa
Pacheco to be filmed, as well as a meeting with Din Thomas,
who is responsible for breaking down her opponents since her fight
with Miesha Tate
at UFC 200.

“Din analyzes her in detail. Head, hips, feet,” said Nunes, who was
promptly complimented by the coach.

“As a UFC analyst, I have 30 seconds to do an analysis. Now I’ve
had four months. When Kayla is in her comfort zone, she’s very good
at what she does. Our job is to help Amanda avoid getting to those
points. Amanda is amazing in taking opponents out of their comfort
zone,” Thomas said.

The video ends with Nina and Amanda taking the interviewer to visit
one of their favorite places in Florida, in Everglades National
Park.
