BEVERLY, Mass. — Unbeaten lightweight prospect Amelia Moore (3-0, 1 KO) will compete for her first professional championship when she faces Canada’s Bonnie Hunter (6-6, 3 KOs) for the vacant NABF Lightweight Championship on Saturday, March 28 at the historic North Shore Music Theatre.
The eight-round title fight serves as the co-main event of CES Boxing’s “North Shore Knock Out,” a card stacked with championship action, a regional lightweight showdown, and several rising prospects from across the Northeast.
Tickets for “North Shore Knock Out” range from $60 to $110 and are currently available through CES Boxing and the North Shore Music Theatre box office. Doors open at 6 p.m., with the first bell scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.
For Moore, the bout represents the first opportunity to claim a professional title and an important step toward establishing herself among the sport’s elite.
“This is what I always wanted,” said an excited Moore from the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, where she frequently spars with 2024 U.S. Olympian Alyssa Mendoza. “I feel like I’m exactly where I need to be — mentally, physically and spiritually.”
Despite having only three professional bouts, Moore has already made waves in the rankings. The former amateur standout sits No. 2 in the WBO rankings and No. 7 in the WBA at 140 pounds, making her one of the fastest-rising fighters in women’s boxing.
A win over Hunter could potentially propel Moore into the WBC lightweight rankings, further accelerating her path toward a world title opportunity.
Yet as fight week approaches, Moore remains unfazed by the moment.
“I have zero nerves,” she admitted. “After over 125 fights around the world, I’ve seen it all.”
Moore’s calm confidence stems from an exceptional amateur career. Before turning professional in late 2024, the Colorado Springs-based fighter — originally from Oxford Hills, Maine — compiled one of the most decorated amateur résumés in American boxing.
She captured five U.S. National Amateur championships, represented Team USA internationally, and served as the alternate for the 2020 U.S. Olympic team.
Along the way she faced elite competition from across the globe.
“I’ve seen everything there is to see,” continued Moore. “Orthodox, southpaw — after that many fights all over the world, there’s nothing in the ring that surprises me.”
That experience will be tested against Bonnie Hunter, a seasoned Canadian veteran who enters the bout with four times as many professional fights as Moore and currently stands as the No. 2-ranked lightweight in Canada.
Hunter has proven her durability throughout her career, having never been knocked down in 12 professional fights, while remaining active with three bouts in 2025.
The two fighters actually shared the same card in October 2025 at Foxwoods, where Hunter dropped a decision to Moore’s CES stablemate Stevie Jane Coleman, while Moore dominated Victoria Mason over six rounds.
“I had a chance to watch her and Stevie fight live,” said Moore. “Bonnie is a durable, game fighter who will engage. We were originally supposed to fight on November 22, so we’ve both had plenty of time to get ready.”
While Moore anticipates a competitive matchup, she believes her speed, movement and versatility will ultimately determine the outcome.
“I know what my skill set is,” said Moore. “I know I’m faster. I know I have more tools in my toolbox. I know that my feet are fantastic. That’s really going to be the difference.”
Unlike many young prospects who are carefully matched early in their careers, Moore has openly embraced challenging bouts that will accelerate her development.
“I want progressive fights,” she explained. “I want fair fights. It’s unfortunate when you see situations where the A-side is fully ready for a date and the B-side comes in super late. That’s not the case here. I’m not here to pretend. That’s what moves the sport forward and makes it exciting.”
A Hometown Traveling With Her
Although the fight takes place in Massachusetts, Moore will still have the backing of her hometown.
The North Shore venue sits roughly three and a half hours from Oxford Hills, Maine, where Moore first discovered martial arts through an after-school program as a child.
In the weeks leading up to the fight, friends, supporters, and local businesses from the region organized a creative way to bring fans to the event — a community-funded fan bus allowing supporters to attend for just $10.
“If you can’t fight in your hometown,” Moore said with a smile, “you bring your hometown to you.”
For Moore, the effort reflects the strong community that helped shape her journey into boxing.
“My heart is so full,” she said. “It’s crazy seeing everyone rally like this. I’m so grateful.”
World Title Ambitions Begin with March 28
While Moore’s long-term goals clearly include a world championship, she remains focused on the immediate challenge ahead.
The NABF title has historically served as an important steppingstone for fighters moving toward global contention. With her current rankings already placing her near the top of the division, capturing the belt on March 28 could also place Moore inside the top 10 of the WBC rankings.
Still, Moore insists that nothing matters beyond the task in front of her.
“My complete focus is on March 28 against Bonnie Hunter,” emphasized Moore. “The NABF title deserves that respect. I’m stoked: my hometown will be there, and everything is coming together at the perfect time. There are many opportunities out there, but we take this step first, and then we keep grinding to whatever’s next.”
With a championship belt at stake, strong hometown support traveling to Massachusetts, and the momentum of a rising career behind her, Amelia Moore appears poised for a defining moment in Beverly.
