Americans Abroad Weekend Rewind: Busio, Robinson, and more

Gianluca Busio and Venezia are leading the promotion pack in Serie B.

Busio scored his sixth goal of the season on Saturday in Venezia’s 4-0 road league win over Cesena. The American midfielder got the scoring going by delivering a stellar finish in the first half, roofing a free kick into the top corner past fellow American, Jonathan Klinsmann.

Andrea Adorante, Antoine Hainaut, and Lion Lauberbach would also add goals to pad Venezia’s 16th league win of the season and their sixth of 2026.

Busio completed the most passes of any player (83), while also winning five duels and making five defensive recoveries. The former MLS homegrown has continued to play a large role in Italy and could very well help Venezia get back to Serie A by summertime.

Up next for Busio and his Venezia teammates is a home date with last place Pescara on February 21

In England, Antonee Robinson delivered a strong outing in Fulham’s comeback victory over Stoke City in FA Cup play. Patrick Agyemang scored his 10th goal of the season in Derby County’s win.

In Italy, Weston McKennie assisted twice but Juventus lost at league-leaders Inter Milan. Christian Pulisic featured off of the bench in AC Milan’s road win over Pisa.

In Germany, Noahkai Banks and Augsburg claimed an important Bundesliga win over Heidenheim. Joe Scally and Borussia Moenchengladbach suffered a road loss to Eintracht Frankfurt. James Sands and St. Pauli lost on the road to Malik Tillman and Bayer Leverkusen.

In France, Tim Weah played the full 90 minutes in Marseille’s home draw with Strasbourg. Tanner Tessmann and Lyon picked up three points against Nice.

Elsewhere, Auston Trusty and Celtic picked up three points over Kilmarnock. Bryan Reynolds scored in Westerlo’s road league win. Marlon Fossey assisted once in Standard Liege’s home draw.
