The Southridge Racing Winter Series held its second event of the year this past weekend in Fontana, California, and the downhill riders put down some serious racing.
America’s Downhill National Champion, Ryan Pinkerton, was the top rider again, the same as he was in the first round of the series two weeks ago.

We checked the amateur times too, and we saw that C.J. Figueroa, who won the 17-18 Expert class, would have placed fourth in the Pro Men’s class. We’ll have to keep an eye on C.J. in the future when he moves up to the pro class.
Tyler Mrosek was the top rider in the 15-16 class. He would have placed sixth in the Pro class if he were allowed to race among them. We bet that he’ll be one of the top pros in the U.S. in a few years.
Serious downhill fans will likely recall how both Jackson Goldstone and Asa Vermette started beating the times of the world’s top pros while Jackson and Asa were still in the junior ranks.
We’ll have to wait and see how the rest of the races go this year to see if anything like that is likely to happen with the young experts at Fontana.
Here are the results of the fastest riders this past weekend:
