Another Top NWA Talent Departs from the Company

The NWA is undergoing a major shift to start 2026 — and now another top name has officially hit the free agent market.

According to Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp, Colby Corino is no longer under contract with the National Wrestling Alliance. The 29-year-old talent, who’s been sidelined for months following emergency spinal surgery, is now free to negotiate with other promotions.

Corino’s NWA deal quietly expired, and while he’s been recovering from his serious health scare, fans have continued to rally around him — with a GoFundMe campaign launched to support his medical expenses during recovery.

A former NWA World Junior Heavyweight Champion, Corino has long been seen as one of the most underrated workhorses in the company. He previously drew interest from WWE and even wrestled for them on multiple occasions. He was reportedly close to signing with the company several years ago.

Corino is the son of WWE producer and ECW legend Steve Corino, and the two famously clashed in a critically acclaimed indie bout in 2021 that still gets talked about in hardcore wrestling circles.

Outside of NWA, Corino also earned praise during his time in Deadlock Pro Wrestling, where his creativity and technical style stood out in an increasingly crowded indie scene.

The news of his free agency arrives shortly after EC3 announced his own departure from NWA, ending his run as Worlds Heavyweight Champion and stepping away from the company after also helping build its Exodus Pro developmental territory.

With two high-profile names now off the NWA roster, the question becomes: what’s next — for them and the promotion they’re leaving behind?

Where do you think Colby Corino should land next? Would you like to see him in WWE, AEW, or back on the indie scene once he’s cleared to return? Let us know in the comments.
