Anthony Joshua CURRENT WEIGHT revealed for Jake Paul clash

Anthony Joshua has revealed his current weight 15 days out from his showdown with Jake Paul.

Joshua faces Paul in an eight-round professional heavyweight bout in Miami on December 19, live on Netflix.

The former two-time heavyweight world champion is restricted from weighing any higher than 245lbs [111kg], over seven pounds lighter than the 252.5lbs [114.53kg] he weighed in his last fight against Daniel Dubois in September 2024.

‘AJ’, who has already arrived in the USA to finish camp, posted a video of himself on social media stepping on the scales on Thursday, weighing 243.8lbs [110.6kg].

The video was accompanied with a caption which read: “They must have forgot.

“I’m used to dealing with big weights & scales.

“243.8lbs.”

Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn told the 5 Live Boxing podcast that he misled Paul’s business partner, Nakisa Bidarian over the Watford man’s weight during negotiations, claiming that he was 25lbs heavier than he was.

Speaking to Pro Boxing Fans last week, Hearn said: “When you’re negotiating on a weight, there’s not one promoter in the world that would tell the truth about what the weight of the fighter was.

“And Nakisa knows that anyway.

“So it’s not like we were being clever.

“But they wanted him to come to 240lbs.”

The 36-year-old suffered a devastating fifth round knockout loss in his last outing to Dubois in a bid for the IBF heavyweight world title.

Paul was supposed to have fought lightweight world champion, Gervonta Davis last month in an exhibition, but it was scrapped after Davis was accused of hitting an ex-girlfriend in a civil lawsuit.

‘The Problem Child’ reportedly offered the fight to Ryan Garcia, Terence Crawford and Francis Ngannou, but opted to face ‘AJ’ after these proposed fights failed to materialise.

Joshua has switched up his training set-up, leaving Ben Davison to join former foe Oleksandr Usyk’s camp in Spain.

Despite being an overwhelming favourite, the Olympic gold medalist insists he is not overlooking Paul.

“You can never underestimate anyone,” Joshua said in a media scrum at the first press conference.

“Because there’s new talent coming out of nowhere from all places and he’s a new, emerging talent.

“I’ve got to take it very seriously.”
