Anthony Kim’s stunning victory at LIV Adelaide capped one of golf’s greatest comeback stories.
Anthony Kim has delivered one of golf’s most extraordinary redemption stories, claiming the 2026 LIV Golf Adelaide title with a bogey‑free final‑round 63 to seal his first professional victory in 16 years.
The 40‑year‑old, who spent more than a decade away from the sport battling injury, addiction and mental‑health challenges, finished 23‑under, three shots clear of Jon Rahm at The Grange Golf Club.
What made the victory even more remarkable was Kim’s position at the start of the day, five shots back, facing two major champions in Rahm and Bryson DeChambeau before unleashing a run of birdies that electrified a packed Adelaide crowd.
Visibly emotional after tapping in the winning putt, Kim spoke about the belief and resilience that fuelled his comeback.
“My family,” he replied when asked what kept him going. “I don’t really know what to say. It’s overwhelming, but I’m never not going to fight.”
“I knew this was coming, but for it to actually happen is pretty insane. And I just want to thank all the people who… supported me when I was struggling and on the verge of never coming back.”
Adelaide fans embraced Kim as one of their own, roaring him home in scenes more like a Hollywood finale than a golf tournament. The American revealed he almost didn’t make it into the country at all, dealing with last‑minute visa issues before the event.
“I didn’t get tired today. I had trouble getting in here with visa issues. But hopefully with the love they’ve shown, I can get back in easily,” he said, acknowledging the surge of support from the South Australian galleries.
