Gaming developer and publisher Electronic Arts (EA) has revealed its financial results for the third quarter of FY2026.
In a release, EA highlighted how Apex Legends saw net bookings increase by double-digits year-over-year as a result of “innovative new features and events.”

According to EA, net bookings are defined as the net amount of products and services sold, both digitally or physically during a particular period. It is calculated by adding total net revenue to the change in ‘deferred net revenue’ for its games. EA’s Q3 FY2026 refers to the three months leading up to December 31st, 2025.
Net bookings for Q3 FY2026 totalled $3.046bn (~£2.22bn), an increase of 38% year-over-year, with $1.901bn (~£1.39bn) in net revenue.
In addition to Apex Legends, EA also attributed the success to other titles in its portfolio. While EA SPORTS FC saw a single-digit increase in net bookings year-over-year through Ultimate Team and FC Mobile, Battlefield 6 became “the best-selling shooter title of 2025” and set new “franchise engagement records.”
As highlighted in the release, EA shared that it will not hold an earnings call for Q3 FY2026. This is because of the pending $55bn (~£41.2bn) acquisition by an investment consortium, which, upon the transaction’s conclusion, will result in EA’s common stock no longer being publicly listed.
Apex Legends Esports in 2025
EA’s latest financial release paints Apex Legends in a positive light, highlighting its continued momentum from the previous report. It lies in stark contrast to less positive sentiments last year, back, when EA predicted a 40% reduction in net bookings for the title in the 2025/2026 fiscal year.
The recent report follows an exciting fifth year in the battle royale’s esports scene, the Apex Legends Global Series (ALGS).
Within the Q3 FY2026 timeframe, the ALGS Year 5 Last Chance Qualifiers were taking place, as teams fought for a place in the 2026 Championship in Sapporo, Japan. Many developments were taking place ahead of the crowning event in December 2025, including ALGS map-pool changes, in-game updates, headline artist reveals and more
