Arjun Babuta Finishes Fourth in 10m Air Rifle at Paris Olympics

Paris, July 29, 2024 – In a dramatic showdown at the Chateauroux Shooting Centre, Indian shooter Arjun Babuta narrowly missed out on a podium finish, securing fourth place in the men’s 10m air rifle event at the Paris Olympics. Despite a commendable performance, Babuta fell short against formidable competitors, with China’s Lihao Sheng clinching gold, Sweden’s Victor Lindgren taking silver, and Croatia’s Miran Maricic winning bronze.

Arjun Babuta, who has an impressive track record with five golds, two silvers, and three bronzes in his career, showcased exceptional skill and determination. Babuta’s journey includes victories at the ISSF World Cup and ISSF Junior World Cup, making him one of India’s promising shooting talents.

India’s shooting contingent had mixed fortunes at the Paris Olympics. On July 28, Manu Bhaker made history by becoming the first Indian woman shooter to win a medal at these Games, setting an inspiring example for her teammates.

The Paris Olympics continue to be a stage of intense competition and remarkable achievements. As the events unfold, the Indian team remains focused on securing more medals and making the nation proud.
