Arman Tsarukyan And Georgio Poullas Set To Run It Back

Arman Tsarukyan and Georgio Poullas are running it back sooner than expected, this time under the Hype FC banner.

This past weekend, in the co-main event of RAF 06, Tsarukyan beat Poullas (5-3). However, the wrestling contest was ugly as Poullas resorted to eye pokes and slaps, leading to multiple interruptions throughout the match.

Tsarukyan also failed to keep his cool. After hearing the final buzzer, he pushed Poullas and punched him in the face, after which both corners stepped in to make matters worse and started attacking each other.

After this incident, “Ahalkalakets” is now set to headline HYPE FC’s main event in Rio on March 11 and will face Georgio Poullas. This will be a submission-only grappling match.

Tsarukyan’s last outing under the Hype FC banner was in December against UFC middleweight Sharabutdin Magomedov, which ended in a draw after neither fighter secured a finish.

The 29-year-old recently revealed he expects to fight for the UFC lightweight title later this year, and his recent antics have not affected his relationship with the UFC.

In the meantime, the Armenian is going to keep himself active, grappling, wrestling, and collecting major accolades.

Arman Tsarukyan is not interested in running it back with Georgio Poullas

Earlier today, Arman Tsarukyan told Ariel Helwani that he doesn’t intend to wrestle with Georgio Poullas again and would rather engage in a street fight with the amateur wrestler.

“No. If they want to do a rematch, we just gotta fight on the street, even better than a rematch, because I don’t want to fight in freestyle wrestling. If he wants to fight, we can fight anywhere… I need one second to knock him out.

In the same interview, “Ahalkalakets” pointed out that at RAF 06, he was not impressed with the judges and the referee and expected them to intervene and award him more points, especially after his opponent tried to poke him in the eyes, slap him, and also tried to break his fingers.
