Arrives Early in Pakistan Due to Training Issues

The political turmoil in Bangladesh has caused delays in the preparations for the two-match Test series; however, the senior cricket squad from Bangladesh will come in Pakistan on August 13, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) decided on Saturday.

The PCB’s invitation has been accepted by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) in this regard.

Part of the ICC World Test Championship, Bangladesh will play two Test matches against Pakistan. Two matches are scheduled for August 30 and September 3 in Karachi, and the first Test will be held at Rawalpindi from August 21 to August 25.

The chief operating officer of PCB, Salman Naseer, expressed his happiness that BCB had accepted their invitation.

“Sports is not only about winning and losing, it’s also about comradery. I remain confident that the extra training sessions in Lahore will allow the (Bangladesh) players to showcase their skills and talent on the global stage” said Naseer.

Nizam Uddin Chowdhury, the Chief Executive of the BCB, expressed gratitude to the PCB for providing the Bangladesh cricket team with an extra training opportunity in Pakistan.

He stated, “This will definitely help the players adjust to the conditions and get better ready for the ICC World Test Championship series.”

Bangladesh will hold training sessions from August 18 at the Gaddafi Stadium from August 14 to 16. On August 17, the team will fly to Rawalpindi for more practice sessions.

Bangladesh will be visiting Pakistan for the first time since 2020, when they participated in three T20Is in Lahore and a single Test match in Rawalpindi.
