Goals from William Saliba and Jurrien Timber earned Premier League leaders Arsenal a 2-1 win over Chelsea on Sunday.

The Gunners went in front when Saliba bundled home from a corner, before Piero Hincapie’s own goal drew the visitors level on the stroke of half-time at The Emirates.

Mikel Arteta’s side then went in front – once again from a corner – when Timber headed past Robert Sanchez, before Pedro Neto was sent off the for Blues after picking up two yellow cards.

Arsenal’s victory restored their five-point lead at the top of the Premier League table, while Chelsea sit sixth and are now six points behind fourth-placed Manchester United.

Now, it appears that the Premier League leaders have drawn up a shortlist of three potential transfer targets as they search for a new full-back.

According to CaughtOffside, Arsenal have identified Sporting CP’s Ivan Fresneda as their top target to replace Ben White, who has attracted significant interest from elsewhere.

The report claims that England international White is on the radar of several clubs, with the defender having started just five Premier League matches so far this term.

Fresneda, 21, has established a reputation as one of the most talented young full-backs in Europe over the past couple of seasons, and he is thought to be high on Arsenal’s list of transfer targets.

As well as Fresneda, Newcastle United star Tino Livramento, and Brentford’s Michael Kayode are also said to be on Arsenal’s radar.

White is said to be fully focussed on Arsenal, but the report also claims that he is attracting significant attention ahead of this summer’s transfer window; former Leeds United man White is said to be valued at around £30 million.

Fresneda is contracted to Sporting until the end of the 2027/28 season.
