“When I got the call, I felt like again my world came crashing down. And I shared this on the documentary of Immersed that our son was in the hospital that day fighting cancer. So wrestling in WWE brought so much joy to my son when he was fighting, watching me on TV each and every single week. Before I got the call, I was actually on my way home to pack up for a pay-per-view in California. On the way driving, I asked my son, I said, ‘Hey, mommy’s got to leave for work. I’m going to go and fight on a pay-per-view. Do you mind? And if you don’t feel good, I’ll stay.’ And he’s like, ‘No, no, I’m going to watch you on TV.’ So it was so amazing. So I leave. I go to pack my stuff because I was going to bring it back to the hospital before I left for my flight. I’m pulling out of the hospital parking lot and I get the call… and they’re like told me I was released and my heart just like fell to the floor.”
Ash went on to explain that the emotional impact of that moment stayed with her long after the call ended. The uncertainty of losing her career while her son was fighting cancer created a wave of fear about what would happen next.
Despite the devastation, Ash eventually found a new path forward, signing with TNA and rebuilding her career step by step. Her story reflects not just professional resilience, but personal strength during one of the most difficult periods of her life.
