Humbert vs Machac
Ugo Humbert – The Frenchman is a specialist on fast surfaces. After crushing Alexander Shevchenko in the quarterfinals (6-0, 6-3), he showed fine form to outlast top seed Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in a final-set tiebreak. Humbert’s lefty serve and flat groundstrokes are well suited for the Adelaide conditions.
Tomas Machac – Machac enters the final playing some of the best tennis of his career. Now injury-free after a difficult 2025, he proved his quality by coming from a set down to upset world No. 13 Tommy Paul. With 32 winners in his semifinal, the Czech talent will look to dictate play with his heavy forehand.
Info
- Head-to-Head: Humbert leads the series 1–0. Their only previous meeting was a competitive three-set match in the Tokyo 2024 semifinals, which Humbert won.
- Humbert is much more experienced in finals, holding a remarkable record in title matches (7 wins in his first 8 finals). Machac, however, is on a mission to prove he belongs in the world’s top 20 after his injury layoff.
- With the year’s first Grand Slam starting very soon in Melbourne, both players will want to secure the title quickly to preserve energy.

Predictions and Odds
Expect a competitive and tight match. While Machac has the power to overwhelm many, Humbert’s experience in finals and his tactical advantage as a left-hander can not be over-looked.
The form of Machac is fantastic at the moment and I think he has a really good chance here for his 2nd ATP title. My bet: Game Handicap, Machac (+1.5) at odds 1.80 (or -125).
